Progress 3/4/20

The first week of my project was dedicated to gathering as much information as possible. I categorized the info into pages and highlighted information I needed to fact check.

The next week I dedicated to finding which platform I would use to put together the website. I initially was going to use WordPress, however I wasn’t given the freedom I needed to put the website together in a way I wanted. After trying numerous other hosting sites I settled on Wix, as it was easy to learn and use, and gave me the necessary tools to develop the site.

Once I settled on Wix, I began to design the homepage along with the logo. I wanted the logo to feel like it fits, and memorable. So I settled on a Top Gun inspired design and color scheme for the site. It was around this time I started to gather images to use on the site, and I gathered video clips to edit together for a background video that goes on the homepage.

After I felt I had a fitting design I could keep consistent, I started work on the info pages. I fact checked the necessary information as I put together each page, along with getting images that fit the text. I also started to verify that the images I were using were copyright free. Most of the images I used are old, so they don’t have any copyright attributed to them anymore.

I continued to make additions in information and changes to the homepage, refining the design and theme. I decided to added an Iranian service section, I initially wanted the site to only cover the US usage, however I figured that the site should be more about the jet, rather than the nationality.

For the last few days I have been making minor changes and edits to the site in order to refine it a bit more before I publish.
